Singing His Way To The Hearts Of Audience
Internet revolution has provided a much-needed platform for
artists, film-makers, audiences, sponsors, and all those associated with the
music industry. Thanks to the extended periods of lockdown necessitated by the
ceaseless fury of COVID-19, people are consuming more content online, be it
over social media sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or the OTT
platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Upcoming artists have grabbed this
opportunity to showcase their talents. They are creating enticing videos and
other audio-visual content, boosting the film and music industry. Some of the
recent artistic contributions with a creative spark and an ability to strike an
emotional chord with the audience provide a glimmer of hope among the
all-pervasive gloom caused by the pandemic.
The Punjabi Music industry, famous worldwide for its music
starring beautiful and glamorous gals, expensive cars and amazing dancing
beats, has a new star in the town.
“Wanted Prince” which was released recently on YouTube, has gone viral all over the new media. The album has crossed the 1 million mark overnight. Launched by Natraj Music India and presented by Nitin Arora, eminent music producer, the song features Prince Kumar, who is the new entry in the illustrious list of Punjabi pop stars, and Ammy Singh, the much-acclaimed rapper and gorgeous girl Urvashi, alongside sports car, helicopter, royal lifestyle and all that for which Punjabi music videos are famous for.
The young and talented Prince Kumar certainly has the
potential to become the much wanted or sought-after star of the music industry.
In an exclusive chit-chat with the writer, he reveals that singing is a means
of expressing his emotions. As the icing on the cake, he can do acting as well.
He is not confined to Punjabi songs and has given his voice to Hindi songs too.
“I would definitely like to sing Hindi songs as well in future,” he says with a
warm smile.
Cinematography of the video has an unmistakable Punjabi
touch. The songs opens with Prince getting down from a helicopter, and is
joined by Ammy in singing against the background of expensive sports car and a
charming Urvashi lending the oomph factor.
As Prince Kumar acknowledges, “Everybody on the project work
really hard. The album was a team effort. The whole team members deserve the
credit for the highly encouraging success of Wanted Prince.”As for his hobbies
outside music, he shares, “I am a fitness enthusiast. I love dance and acting,
besides unwinding myself by travelling to beautiful locales.”
The best thing about the song are its lyrics. In the midst
of engaging rhythmic beats, Kirat Kaler, lyricist of the song, has done a
tremendous job of capturing the hearts of the audience. The song is loaded with
philosophical overtones as it conveys that time changes; sometimes it’s good,
and sometimes not; one should not care about what others says, as it’s people’s
habit to say anything. In the prevailing atmosphere of negativity, the song
certainly gives a message of positivity and hope.
When quizzed on his plans, Prince discloses. “I am working
on another song which will come out next month.” His fan following certainly
expect him to further mesmerise them with his enchanting voice and terrific
expressions.
