IIFL Home Finance promotes education as an integral part of their social responsibility

IIFL Home Finance together with IIFL Foundation is running school facility at some of the developers’ project sites in Noida and Greater Noida to offer elementary education to the kids of the construction workers.  

One of India’s largest NBFCs, IIFL Home Finance Limited together with IIFL Foundation believes in creating value and bringing change in the society.  Emphasizing the need of education, IIFL Home Loan with the help of IIFL foundation is running school facilities at some of the developers’ project sites as a part of their Corporate Social Initiative. Supported by the construction finance wing of the company, make-shift schools have been started at developers’ sites in Noida and Greater Noida. At the heart of the project is a vision that education is the foundation of every child. This noble initiative has been started with 30 children of construction workers who do not have access to elementary schooling or any kind of education.

The schools were as just plain sites at the projects which have now transformed into designated areas with temporary structure over a period of time. Moreover, IIFL Home Loan provides supports to these schools in terms of teacher’s salary. The teachers working here belong to the nearby areas only. Hence, this initiative is not only helping these kids to get elementary education but it’s also giving significant employment opportunities to these teachers who belong to economically weaker sections.

Himanshu Arora- Business Head- Construction Finance/Alternate Channels, IIFL Home Finance Limited said "Education holds key to growth and progress of a child. IIFL Home Finance together with IIFL Foundation focuses to ensure that no child remains devoid of education.” “Currently over 30 kids are studying at such schools but our aim is to take this initiative to a larger level,” he added.

“We believe that every child is exceptional in his own right but not all are privileged enough to go to schools. Our focus is on providing education to these children so that they can make a brighter future for themselves, we also thank our associate developers for this initiative,” he said.

 At present this kind of school is set-up in developers’ sites of Noida & Greater Noida but IIFL Home Loan is planning to expand this initiative to developers’ sites in Pune as well. Moreover, the company is targeting 4-5 locations across India by the end of FY 2018-19.  Overall, the activity provides basic education with a focus on planned financial literacy and elementary education.
